Keil Miller grew up in La Jolla and lived in Cardiff for a while and is now back in La Jolla. He is a freelance writer, substitute teacher, traveler and charger who grew up surfing Black's, La Jolla Reefs and the entire coast of California.

Keil was the one who did an article on our Enjoy Handplanes project for WaveLines. When he did the article he borrowed my personal handplane and took it for a spin. I was curious how he would like it being more surfer then bodysurfer. As it turns out he was so stoked on it that a few weeks ago he ordered his own.

I think the coolest thing that I've noticed is this project is the level of surfers like Keil who have found us and have been drawn to what we make and ultimately why we make them. Guys or girls that have been surfing a long time really appreaciate not just how we make these little beauties but how much fun they have body surfing with them. In Keils case it was really a complement that a writer comes back to you after he was basically hired to do a job to want one of his own.

Thanks again Keil for the great write up, supporting us and for being stoked on what are doing! That means a lot to us for sure.

  1. cool to find this. I was searching for Keil today, he's a great guy. He worked for me at JJ's Pizza in Bird Rock a few years back and we really got along well. Hope he's doing well.
