Spontaneous Collaboration at SDSFF creates amazing art

At the San Diego Surf Film Festival Skye Walker started to paint on event photographer Mark Bromley's handplane and set off a spontaneous collaboration between himself and friends Joe Hodnicki and Matt Beard. At the end of the night this was the result, one of the most amazing handplanes I've ever seen. Mark is one lucky man!

Good Bye Terry Martin

It was said to learn that Terry Martin had passed. I never got a chance to spend time with him but always looked from afar at what he did for our surfing community. What I loved about Terry was his passion for shaping. He lived a long full life being of service to others, bring them joy in the water with boards he hand built. He shaped over 80,000 surfboards in his life. That is a staggering number of boards and everyone one of them done with the love of his craft. Terry you are a model for all of us to choose to do something we love in life every day. Thank you for teaching us that.

Matt Beard Painting

Matt is one of the artists at SDSFF this weekend. This painting is from a series Matt is doing from the photos of others. This one was made from 4 photos if i remember correctly that were shot by both our friends PMK and Gage Hingeley. That is PMK in the barrel!

Day dreaming on instagram

We have been posting a lot on instagram. I'll try and post more of those shots here. Here are a few that never made it to the blog. If you want to follow us there look up enjoyhandplanes, like one of the photos and well follow you back.

Attention: Dude with the Amazing Quiver...

If this is you, your quiver has been setting Korduroy.tv facebook page on fire!  They want to interview you. Contact Cyrus Sutton right away.

P.S. Thank you for adding an enjoy to your quiver. We are honored to be next to those boards!

Handplane Hoedown - a great time

What a great time. Thank you to Brownfish for setting this event up!

Handplane Hoe-Down tomorrow. See you there!

Handplane Hoedown tomorrow may 5th.

I have been working on my quiver for the day. A little mix of our history starting off with the first ever handplane Kipp made as well as our new stuff and even our lazy man's bodysurfing tool dubbed the car hood. Should be unreal!

Thank you to Brownfish for coming up with this idea and organizing!
