A Tale of Two Creeks by Shane Grace

Shane has been at it again. Here's his latest from last weekend. Shot with his Enjoy Handplane and GoPro HD. Loving it!  Good job Shane! *Enjoy

Salt creek bodysurfing in january by Shane Grace

Shane Grace shot this video with his GoPro HD and a Foggy Sea model at Salt Creek.  I had a big smile on my face watching this as it is so much of what you experience bodysurfing at sunset. The colors and the tubes. It made me want to go out! Good job, Shane!  It makes my day knowing someone is being creative with stuff we made without hands.

2 From The New Recycling Program at Mitch's North

We started a new program at Mitch's North with Jon who does the board buying and runs the CNC machine for local shapers. When you machine blanks every now and then you get a bad blank or the cutting is off. If the blank was cut for a shortboard it is most likely that you can't reshape it into something usable so historically these bad blanks where trash.

Jon, like us, doesn't like to simply trash things because you don't have an immediate use for them.  Since we buy a lot of our supplies from Mitch's it was only natural to begin a conversation of what we could do together to reuse what were his trash.

Above are the first of hopefully many that will be made from their production waste.  They are available at their shop. Jon, thanks so much for the opportunity. We really appreciate it.

"Wart" is Sold

"Wart" by Rodney McCoubrey: Made from Enjoy practice piece and the nose of a Stewart longboard, Rusted Cans and Love: Size 19"x17

Our #1 right coast supporter Mike Brown acquired one of my favorite pieces from the Enjoy Leftover Art Project. Mike has been a huge supporter of our efforts and is now the proud owner of "Wart" a McCoubrey original. Rodney and I spoke about it this evening and it is so special for us to collaborate on this project. Not just as friends but as individuals who share a common passion for reuse and giving live to the once thought of as trash. Rodney's work is so special and it is truely an honor for Kipp and myself to work with him on this. And it is great because a portion of the proceeds will be going to buy art supplies for Pual Ecke Central classrooms. Thank you everyone for supporting the art project. If you see one you'd like please feel free to contact us.

ENJOY

If only Andre bodysurfed.

Enjoy Leftover - El Pato by Rodney McCoubrey -Sold!

El Pato by Eco-Artist Rodney McCoubrey is made of salsa cans, broken board parts and lots of love. This piece is part of our Enjoy Leftovers Art Project which hands over the leftover pieces of our handplanes to renowned Eco-Artist and Leucadia local Rodney McCoubrey for him to give life too and to keep the leftover pieces of the broken boards we use from the trash. This piece was purchased by local surfer and business owner Corey Messer to add to his collection of McCobrey eco art. A portion of the proceeds from the Enjoy Leftovers Art Project will go to buy art supplies for Paul Ecke Central.

Thanks Corey for supporting us and Paul Ecke class rooms!

Chris Mulchay and his Blue Mexi 2

I get so stoked when I see these shots. Here is Nor Cal surfer Chris Mulchay and his new Blue Mexi 2 handplane. When it is not in the water Chris keeps it on his mantle as a piece of art. :) Kipp loves to hear that. It makes him want to go lay down some resin.  Thanks for the shot Chris!  Keep sending them.

Grace and Greene / ReRip Collaboration

We did this one and a few others we'll show off later for a new little eco boutique in Redondo Beach called Grace and Greene that our friends at ReRip are affiliated with. This one is a resin foam stain and was made using foam from the ReRip.org board recycling program.

This ReRip collaboration is our first in a series of shops where ReRip will collect broken boards from those shop's customers and we'll produce handplanes and stock the shop with product from ReRip foam. It's a win win for everyone. If you are in Redondo go check out Grace and Greene and support local businesses that are doing good!

Jim's Foggy Sea

Jim Vincent's new Foggy Sea, complete with blue resin tint fins and GoPro mount. She's a beauty. Jim is from Gloucester MA and is an avid surfer/bodysurfer. Right now the water temp is 42 degrees with howling 32 degree air temp. Jim, and one of our friends and a huge support of our handplanes, Mike Brown both go out in these conditions regularly. These guys are hardcore. My hat goes off to them. Thank you Jim and Mike for supporting us! Can't wait to see some photos of your spot this winter.

Surfy Surfy Squidy 2 Diamond Tail Collaboration

We have been having a lot of fun with our collaboration program. This one features a little duddle by one of the guys we work with on a regular bases, JP St. Pierre of Surfy Surfy. JP has been a huge supporter of our project and comes from the St. Pierre family that owns and operates Moonlight Glassing. For those of you who aren't familiar with Moonlight Glass, they are basically the best of the best when it comes to glassing and painting a surfboard. If you want a board to last or be the most beautiful board in the line up go to Moonlight. JP grew up in the shop and has polished some 30,000 surfboards in his glassing career.  He knows his stuff. For him to work with us on these handplanes means a lot to us as JP doesn't put his name on crappy products. That says a lot for Kipp as he is the glassing star in this project!  Way to go Kipper!!!

Above is Dave from Oregon. He bought Squidy 2 from JP's shop New Years day. Good choice Dave!  Send us some picks of you getting barreled when you have them.
