New Model - The Hitchhiker - Mini Simmons
We are so stoked to put out a new Mini Simmons model we made for fun one day and fell in love with. We call it the Hitchhiker. It is complete with a concave nose to step up deck. Fits your hand perfect. I love the Mint and Milk Chocolate resin tint too on this one. I wish I could keep it.

Thanks to Susan Wickstrand for sending in these shots. Susan took her hand painted "Fire Cracker" from the wall at the Surf Indian where it is supposed to be hung and took it for a test spin this weekend. She left a sticky note in it's place. Susan has been working hard so she decided that she needed a little barrel time. It will be back up on the wall next week and might even make it into a few magazine articles she is due to be in. From a collectors stand point, having a piece made and then used by the artist is pretty cool, especially if it makes it into a photo spread! If you want this one contact the guys at Surf Indian. Tak + enjoy = Artist Collaboration #9
Our friend and local Leucadia artist Tak Aoyama just dropped off a handplane he painted up for us for our artist collaboration project. He's the 9th artist we have worked with to date and he came back with a handplane that blew us away. It is so unique, beautiful and subliminal.
I love Tak's work because he thinks everything through. You will never hear out of Tak's mouth that there is something like a color in his painting just because he likes that color. If something is in the painting it is because it has deep meaning to him and it conveys a message related to the overall piece. You can look at his work multiple times and find new things you missed the first few times around.
All and all we are so stoked that Tak is on board to paint up some handplanes with us. This artist collaboration project is turning out to be so much fun. If you'd like one like this (I think this one is going to hang on our wall!) then let us know and we'll connect you with Tak to do one special for you. Thank you Tak!!! Great job.

A little pencil on foam with resin tints. First one we ever did! It's titled "Enjoy Da View". My favorite thing about bodysurfing is this view! Go to the light... It's at Surfy Surfy so stop in and take a look if you are in the hood.
