I like this one for sure. Available at Surfy Surfy.
Enjoy the 4th
Happy 4th!
Thanks to Susan Wickstrand for sending in these shots. Susan took her hand painted "Fire Cracker" from the wall at the Surf Indian where it is supposed to be hung and took it for a test spin this weekend. She left a sticky note in it's place. Susan has been working hard so she decided that she needed a little barrel time. It will be back up on the wall next week and might even make it into a few magazine articles she is due to be in. From a collectors stand point, having a piece made and then used by the artist is pretty cool, especially if it makes it into a photo spread! If you want this one contact the guys at Surf Indian. If you want one custom painted just for you, let us know and we'll put you in touch with Susan.
Tak + enjoy = Artist Collaboration #9
Our friend and local Leucadia artist Tak Aoyama just dropped off a handplane he painted up for us for our artist collaboration project. He's the 9th artist we have worked with to date and he came back with a handplane that blew us away. It is so unique, beautiful and subliminal.
I love Tak's work because he thinks everything through. You will never hear out of Tak's mouth that there is something like a color in his painting just because he likes that color. If something is in the painting it is because it has deep meaning to him and it conveys a message related to the overall piece. You can look at his work multiple times and find new things you missed the first few times around.
All and all we are so stoked that Tak is on board to paint up some handplanes with us. This artist collaboration project is turning out to be so much fun. If you'd like one like this (I think this one is going to hang on our wall!) then let us know and we'll connect you with Tak to do one special for you. Thank you Tak!!! Great job.
Enjoy Da View
A little pencil on foam with resin tints. First one we ever did! It's titled "Enjoy Da View". My favorite thing about bodysurfing is this view! Go to the light... It's at Surfy Surfy so stop in and take a look if you are in the hood.
*Enjoy
*Enjoy the Great Lakes
Barry Thompson just posted this photo on his facebook page. It's of him bodysurfing the Great Lakes with one of our Mexi Blanket's and a GoPro. This put a huge smile on my face. I honestly never imagined anyone would every take one of our handplane out in the Great Lakes. To think that a broken board from California is now getting water time in the midwest instead of sitting in a landfill blows me away. Yewww!!! Thanks for sharing Barry.
Taped Off - One of my new favorite blogs

Peter St Pierre is a legend in Leucadia but more importantly the world of surfing. We are lucky to have him on our planet. He of course is the one that paints those trippy universe scenes on surfboards for his company Moonlight Glassing. I think it's been around for 30 or 40 years. Kipp and I have always looked up to him and somehow I just found his own blog called Taped Off. I love the about...
ABOUT
I really like making surfboards. Shots from our shop Moonlight Glassing. Plus anything else I think is cool. think of this blog as a spinoff of Surfy Surfy but with crappier photos and more typos. --Peter St Pierre
A while back JP passed off one of our handplanes to him at the shop and months later he handed this off to JP. The writing on the bottom said "Enjoy The Universe". We were so stoked he did this I couldn't get the smile off my face for months. I still get a warm fuzzy every-time I look at this. THANK YOU PETER!!!!
At any rate his new blog is a few months old now and filled with tons for great posts from Moonlight Glassing. It is worth a daily click for sure. Enjoy!
